The Forgotten and the Foreign #1: Alberto Breccia

The first installment of The Forgotten and the Foreign is Alberto Breccia. You can read a bio of him here: http://lambiek.net/artists/b/breccia.htm.I'm particularly a big fan of his earlier, more traditional work. I've posted up a few examples. I've posted up a panel for his most famous work--Mort Cinder ( 1962 ). I 've also posted 2 pages of the sci-fi themed SHERLOCK TIME. Can you believe he did this in 1959? The man was way ahead of his time! I've also posted 4 pages of a British digest-sized western called DANGER MONEY.

These pages are great. Are a fan of Attilio Micheluzzi ? He's not paticularly well known here either.

Thanks for sharing.

Love Micheluzzi's work. I'll probably post some of his work up some time. His unfinished "Afganistan" is great to look at. Cool to see his process. Also have his "Johnny Focus", "Titanic" and "Siberia". Checked out your site. Nice work. Not many of us still doing the "ganster" genre. Nice to see someone else who appreciates that style!

Thanks for the kind words about my work . Glad you like it.

If you ever have the chance , 'Marcel Labrume' , "Bab El-Mandeb', 'Shanghai' and "Air Mail' are some of Micheluzzi's best work. They're rare to non-existent here in North America, but can be found on Italian + French E-Bay.
